Shearer A/W18 Collection Launch

Influenced by Australian cultural history while incorporating a modern and unique design aesthetic, Shearer is a premium menswear label that has grown from its inception as a street-wear label and presents its first A/W collection.

Designed and made in Australia for the modern man, the new A/W collection comes after designer and founder, Johnny Szymanski, took over design control. From concept to construction, Szymanski has taken Shearer through a confident progression from its original design language and changing from its former name of Sheep Shearer.

With a monochrome colour palette, the A/W collection focuses on high quality fabrication, comprising of 19 designs that carefully infuses minimal silhouettes with bold original prints and textured elements.

Szymanski said, “This is a very important collection for the brand and for me as a designer. A/W18 is the first collection under the new name, inspired by new concepts and following a bolder design direction.”

The label is inspired by Australian legend, Jackie Howe, and his life at the end of the 19th century. Howie became famous for his shearing record of 321 sheep in seven hours and 40 minutes using blade shears at Alice Downs near Blackall, Western Queensland.

“Shearer will always follow the same ethos of the past and its heritage, but we refuse to constrain our creativity when it comes to designing original pieces,” said Szymanski.

Price points for the collection range from $120 through to $2,500.
